Medro

History

Mennonite Development and Relief and Organization (MeDRO) was incorporated on the 20th of August 2015 under the Companies Act, 1963 (Act 179) as a civil society organization limited by guarantee of its members.

The formation of this non-governmental organization became necessary to structure, harmonize and spearhead development activities of the Northern Ghana Mennonite churches. The initiative was energized by the correspondence between Rev Michael Badasu, a former moderator of the Ghana Memnnonite Church and Mr Christoph Landes of Mennonitisches Hilfswerk, Germany.

Acting Staff

MeDRO currently has four trained permanent staff. There is one acting executive director in the person of Mr Godstime V Badasu and three field workers under our current Banking on Change (BOC) program called Village  Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs).
There are also several Community Volunteers working with MeDRO within our operational zones. These CVs are trained and equipped by MeDRO to augment the work of the fieldworkers in the various communities.
